Giving In

Spike's idea is SHOCKING!

Peer pressure can be intense and change lives.  I gave in to peer pressure from my family to marry a man I had been with for years.  They listed their reasons, they pressed, they planned and plotted and I gave in.  Their arguments were sound, their reasoning sound and their motive was to keep a great man in the family on a more permanent basis.  I caved, said, “I do,” and have lived happily ever after since.  Glad they were pushing me to take up smoking!  If I could go back, I’d still listen to and be influenced by them.  When it’s happening, peer pressure can be as powerful as a tsunami.

The Magic of Foods

There are three food items that would be my mainstay in life.  First would be hummus.  Yep, that little chickpea bean can be spiced to make your mouth water and is filling and rather healthy.  Second place for “only room for three” on my plate is chicken.  It blends with everything and is delightfully tasty.  The final item on my list of only three foods for me would have to be cheese.  When mixed with chicken and hummus on a plate, there is only one thing to say – YUM.  If there was a rule that each person could only have three things to eat for the rest of their days, these three would be mine.

A Vision

Rosetta Stone

The most beautiful thing I have seen is love between people.  As our world changes, we are becoming more global in vision.  Watching people open up and explore each other’s cultures and ways is stunning to behold.  Things like Rosetta Stone and Facebook and the internet have brought us to any culture we’d like to learn about with a click and a snap.  As we do these social media things, we are seeing that people are interested in each other and are really more tolerant than not.  We are seeing people say, “Enough with tyranny!  Live free and love long!” Seeing people reach out a hand when something like an earthquake rips apart entire towns is seeing the beauty of life and humanity first hand.  Nothing better.

Caring for Your Dog

One important part of being a dog owner is giving food and water to your dog. Of course, as a dog owner one must buy a dog bowl to feed and give water to the dogs. There are many different types of dog bowls. Some are made of metal, plastic, ceramic, and many other materials. The cheapest dog bowls will most likely be made of plastic. Dog owners can even buy dog bowls that are made specifically for dispensing food and slowly giving out water. All of these different types of dog feeder bowls can be bought at any pet store or wherever dog bowls are sold.
