The thrill of trying out a new sport, like starting mountain biking when you are in your thirties, involves some false starts and painful crashes. However, there is a special thrill involved with crashing while being active and trying something new. Even better than the feeling of truly having lived, is the thrill of flying down a medium width mountain path without falling with your favorite music playing in your earphones. In addition to the adrenaline rush associated with mountain biking is the ability to connect with nature and get into great shape. The workout is aerobic and weight bearing, so your whole body gets a good seeing to.

I spent last weekend completely cleaning out my bathroom and kitchen cabinets. I began in the bathroom and took everything out of each cabinet. I was able to throw a lot away and I began a box for a future garage sale. I even took all of my towels out, refolded them and reorganized how they were in the cabinet. I cleaned the cabinets inside and out. Then I moved to the kitchen. I started with the largest cabinet and was able to get 2 more small boxes of stuff for a garage sale. I was able to do one more cabinet in the kitchen. This weekend I will continue to work on the kitchen cabinets. It is amazing how things just pile up that you don’t need or use. I hope by January I have managed to go through closets also and de-clutter the whole house.

My favorite TV show of all time is the twilight zone. Not the new twilight zone, but the old version. Irony is the name of the game when it comes to this show. To think that you’re in one situation when your whole world is actually in another is brilliant television. It’s amazing that, in my view, after all these years of new TV shows being created, the twilight zone still cannot be topped. I remember watching my first twilight zone episode, and it gave me a weird feeling at the end. It was a man who survived a nuclear holocaust, with him being the only survivor. But the good thing was that he was surrounded by books which he could endlessly read which were a difficulty to find time to do in the past. Then just when he was about to read a book, his glasses that he need to read broke. Now he was alone and could not read the books he wanted. Brilliant.
